The Bahamas Baby!

The Bahamas is the place to be!! It is an archipelagic nation that consists of 700 islands within the Caribbean. When you think of the Bahamas you think of paradise, drinks on the white beaches, and crystal blue waters to relax next to; when in reality those are only the beginning of the long list of attractions that this beautiful country has to offer.

First up the food, the way to anyone's heart. The cuisine offered in the Bahamas is the definition of comfort foods, with a mix of Caribbean cajun seafood and southern America potatoes, cornbread, and fried chicken. With plenty of cafés and restaurants to eat at you'll never be hungry.

The dancing culture is unlike any other, with The Bahamas Junkanoo Carnival every year, it has become the focal point of the Bahamian traditions! The four-day celebration at the end of December makes it the best place to be for the Christmas holiday. There is a history behind every door in The Bahamas including this one. Junkanoo was a holiday permitted to slaves by the slave owners. Over the years it has become known as the vibrant, spirited festival we know today. Known to bring families and communities together, thus perfect for tourists and locals to gather.

With numerous places to visit, learning the history of The Bahamas is made easy. The islands have a long and fascinating history that is fun to learn and explore. One place to visit is The Dolphin House Museum; a three-story ocean-inspired building that was built using primarily recycled materials. This beautiful building was made by a local named Ashley Saunders and consists of many authentic artifacts such as an old cannon.

From monuments to museums to swimming with pigs; this is one trip you will never get bored on, so start planning your trip and packing your bags.
